What Is Stock Trading

When someone says that they are buying shares, selling them or holding them, they are talking about stock trading or in particular, themselves as they are the stock traders. Stock traders are divided on the basis of the trading volume that they undergo.

Traders are generally traders or investors. The investors invest their money in some firm and then they tend to practically forget about any such investment. The idea is to make long term gains, avoiding every day fluctuation that the market has always been a witness to.

Traders on the other hand trade their stocks with one and one aim only. Make profits. Buy low and sell high has always been the mantra of day traders who begin their trading when the market opens and are done with it when the market closes. It has to be kept in mind that stock trading is never as easy as it seems and should always be done with ease and care.

Since stock trading has become vast to the levels that are unprecedented, people come up with a lot of different strategies and ways to make money. It is hard to define stock trading sometimes.

Still, let us answer some of the most basic questions about stock trading.

What is stock trading? :

To make the money off of the price movements that a stock may undergo in one single day, day traders will always be in a loop of selling and buying the shares. There are traders who aremore into penny stocksthat have a relatively lower price movement and there are traders who are more into the blue chip stocks that are kept in the game for the long term.

Stock trending is broadly classified into two categories.

Active trading and day trading.

Active trading:

Active trading is when the person is actively involved in trading but is not trading on the daily. Maybe more than 10 times a month but not more than that. These types of traders follow a specific strategy that they have set to make them short term profits at a particular moment in that particular tenure.

Day trading:

Here, the traders play on the daily. They are actively involved in trading and trade every day. Day traders are active as soon as the market opens and the good ones have already set their targets a few hours ago and are just waiting to execute those ideas. Their business ends as the trading day does.

Day traders buy and sell stocks multiple times a day with an aim of making money with the help of minimum risk ratio.

How can you trade stocks online?

To be a good trader, the key is to be in the game for a long time and that is the only way to make profits and money in the market. The game is to stick to the strategy that is once made and then making money with that and that only.

The step by step process to become an online stock trader can be found anywhere on the internet.

They Have artiles where they tell you to become a trader with a broker first and then open your account with the broker. Everyone knows that. The key to becoming a successful online stock broker is to be consistent and that is it.

There are brokers who put in therotten ideas of trading on either leverage or CFDs into the heads of novice traders.

The traders being new to the market always pay unwanted heed to such things and end up losing their money rapidly.

There are specific characteristics a goodtrading strategyhas always had.The survival of the trader and the success rate of the trade both are dependent on how verified the strategy is. The strategies that the novices device are not verified by anyone and hence are responsible for bringing loss to the trader. Sometimes the loss is so big that the trader quits trading altogether. The improv schemes the traders go through while trading are the reasons why trades fail.

Are you looking for a broker that can help you in trading stocks online?

Look no further

HFTradingwas established as a broker in 2019 and ever since, the broker has made a lot of noise in the market.

The fact that it is regulated with no one but two brokers makes it more than legitimate. With more than 300 tradable assets to trade with, the broker has made three thief trading accounts on which the trader can choose to trade from. The leverage that the broker provides, the preads that the broker asks, are all different for each trading account and respond to different assets differently.

Bottom Line:

Trading in stocks is a hard thing to do and should never be taken lightly. It has to be kept in mind that emotions never bought the food, math did.

NYSE to merge with Archipelago; NASDAQ to buy Instinet

Sunday, April 24, 2005

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced last Wednesday that it has agreed definitively to merge with Chicago-based Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx) and form a new publicly traded, for-profit company known as NYSE Group. This announcement was followed two days later by NASDAQ®, which independently announced a definitive agreement to purchase Instinet Group.

Archipelago and Instinet are innovative e-trading (electronic trading) companies, and formerly were the two largest American rivals to NYSE and NASDAQ, in recent years taking increasingly large portions of their market share. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulatory agencies still have to review and approve the transactions, particularly with respect to US securities law and antitrust law, in order to ensure that the marketplace remains lawful and competitive.

Other pending issues for NASDAQ include obtaining the approval of Instinet shareholders, as well as customary closing conditions. NYSE must obtain the approval of its members and Archipelago shareholders.

These changes, a reaction to increased e-trading competition and a changed regulatory environment, will result in NASDAQ and NYSE trading each other’s shares and attempting to grab market share, which many hope will drive down transaction costs and ultimately benefit consumers. However, at least one commentator, Dan Ackman writing in Forbes, has noted that the trading commission at the NYSE currently averages less than a nickel (US$0.05) per share, and was less enthusiastic about potential efficiency gains from electronic trading at the exchange.

The transactions are also intended to make the two leading American stock exchanges more globally competitive with such exchanges as the London Stock Exchange, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and the Australian Stock Exchange located in Sydney.

The Right Soil And Potting Techniques For A Bumper Greenhouse Harvest

By Gerald Mason

You will receive a bigger harvest from your greenhouse crops if you plant them in the right soil mixture, in the proper kind of pot or other container, and shift or transplant them at timely intervals.

Soils

The first-time greenhouse grower often faces the problem of finding organic material, an essential component of a light and rich potting soil.

The usual recommendation is garden soil, organic matter (humus), and 1/3 builder’s sand. A compost pile can supply the organic matteror you can buy rotted manure to mix in the soil.

Failing this, you can purchase bales of peatmoss or bushels of leaf mold. Processed manure is also suitable.

Commercial growers obtain organic material in a way that may be adaptable for you. They cut sod and stack it in alternate layers, with manure and some commercial fertilizer spread between the layers. A man in my vicinity has some rather deep cold frames no longer used for plants.

In these, he places a load of builder’s sand, another of loam, and a third of brown peat.

These materials are forked over until well mixed and allowed to age a year before use. You might try making up a similar mixture in a large wooden box or bin, or in a section of your cold frame.

I think it is an excellent basic mixture, but I add special elements for various plants.

Any time is a good time to start a compost pile; the important thing is to have one.

It will assure a reliable source of humus for little labor and less expense. Into your compost pile can go all kinds of vegetable matter: grass clippings, tree leaves, weeds, vegetable peelings, arid so on.

If the pile is kept moistened and sprinkled with fertilizer or a special bacteria-activator as Activo, it soon becomes fine enough organic material for your potting soil.

Some gardeners dig a pit for compost; others prefer to have compost bins above ground. One manufacturer sells an aluminum bin, 52 by 28 inches, that might suit your needs, especially if you are a city gardener.

When you consider that the small amount of earth packed into a pot must sustain a plant for weeks, months, or longer, you will see the importance of a good soil containing loam, organic matter, and sand.

However, additions of sponge rock for greater porosity, charcoal as a sweetener, aluminum sulphate to acidify, or old mortar rubble (for cacti) can be beneficial for special crops.

The symbol pH is used to indicate the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a soil; pH 7.0 is neutral. Most potted plants grow well in a slightly acid soil with a pH of about 6.0 to 6.5. There are exceptions.

Azaleas, citrus trees, gardenias, and hibiscus, do best in a definitely acid soil. You can purchase a soil-testing kit for your own testing, or have someone at your university or your county agent make tests to determine whether your soil is acid or alkaline, and what (if anything) it needs.

Do not use the same soil for more than 1 year. A sizable amount will go out every year with the potted plants, flats of seedlings, etc., you sell. But crops such as bulbs can be lifted and dried off, and you still have the soil.

In any case, at the end of a year, remove any leftover used soil and pile it outside to aerate and revitalize for some months. Then it can be incorporated again into potting mixtures.

Mixing Soil

Unless you buy or borrow a small cement mixer or similar type of heavy-duty churn, you will have to rely on your own strong arm to mix the soil.

I have found a 16-quart aluminum canning kettle a good “mixing bowl.” In this I mingle the extra ingredients (charcoal, sponge rock, and such) with the basic soil mixture. If the mixture is dry, I add enough water so that it will adhere when I pinch a little of it between thumb and forefinger.

Break up large lumps of soil and peatmossbut for most potting purposes you need not sift the mixture through a screen.

However, seedlings and some cuttings do better in screened or milled material.

Soil MixturesTo Buy or Sell

Of course, you can purchase a ready-made mixture from a large greenhouse, but this should be used only as a starter or in an emergency.

Such standard or all-purpose potting soils will not be right for everything you grow.

As you learn to mix soils, you may find them an added source of income. You can buy plastic bags in which to sell your own all purpose mixture to customers. If it is sterilized, it will bring a higher price.

SpaceX scrubs Falcon I rocket launch

Monday, November 28, 2005

SpaceX called off the much-delayed inaugural launch of their new Falcon 1 rocket on Saturday from Kwajalein’s Omelek Island launch site. The intent was to launch the U.S. Air Force Academy’s FalconSat 2 satellite, which will monitor plasma interactions with the Earth’s upper atmosphere and magnetosphere.

The launch was delayed, then finally cancelled after an oxygen boil-off vent had accidentally been left open. The oxygen was unable to cool the helium pressurant, which then proceeded to evaporate faster than it could be replenished. A main computer issue, probably serious enough to cause a scrub on its own, was also discovered.

This long-anticipated flight was originally expected to be launched in January 2005, however a series of setbacks forced a series of delays, with the flight most recently scheduled to be in early 2006. It was intended to be launched from the Kwajalein atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The maiden voyage was originally intended to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California with a Naval Research Laboratory satellite and a Space Services Incorporated space burial payload.

Potential Benefits Of Pergolas In Waukesha, Wi

byAlma Abell

A plain backyard without any type of landscaping or structures can be pretty boring. These days, many people would like to spend at least some of their free time enjoying the outdoors, especially when they’re at home. Adding some type of structure, such as pergolas in Waukesha WI, can make this easier to do and more enjoyable. There are a number of potential benefits to adding a pergola to your yard.

Provides Shade

Although they don’t have solid roofs, pergolas are a good way to increase the shade in an area. They don’t provide 100 percent shade, but it’s definitely more comfortable to be under a pergola than to be directly under the sun. Using thicker slats that are closer together will increase the shade, as can allowing vines or plants to grow over the pergola.

Help Define Outdoor Living Spaces

Having Pergolas in Waukesha WI is a good way to define your outdoor living space, setting it apart from the rest of the yard. Put down pavers or bricks underneath and you have an open room that can be used for relaxing or entertaining. Yes, the pergola does have gaps in the roof so it isn’t perfectly shaded, but this just means you can actually see the stars and the sky, and the room created has more light.

Supports Plants

The structure of the pergola can provide the support needed by plants such as grapevines, ivy, wisteria, or clematis. This makes the whole structure beautiful and green. Those who like other plants can use the beams as a place to hang planters.

Relatively Inexpensive

When it comes to outdoor living structures, pergolas are among the most affordable. They’re also easy to build and can be low maintenance, depending on what material they are made out of. For example, vinyl doesn’t need to be painted, isn’t damaged by insects, and doesn’t warp or rot. Adding outdoor living spaces helps to increase the value of the home, so you may even find that it’s easier to sell the house should you decide to.

Visit Outdoorlivingunlimited.com for more information. They can help with all your hardscaping needs, including porches, pavers, outdoor living areas and sunrooms.

Seven-year-old girl killed in Detroit, Michigan police raid

Monday, May 17, 2010

A seven year-old girl was shot and killed Sunday during a police raid in Detroit, Michigan, United States when one of the officer’s guns was accidentally set off during an argument with the girl’s grandmother. Police were raiding the home in search of a 34 year-old male suspect accused of murdering teenager Jarean Blake near a local liquor store the previous night.

According to police reports, Mertilla Jones got into a verbal confrontation with a police officer, which quickly turned physical. The woman, according to the police, then came into contact with the officer which inadvertently set off the gun that he was carrying. The bullet then struck the girl, Aiyana Jones, in the neck while she was sleeping on the family’s couch.

The murder suspect was apprehended later that day. However, the family and public became outraged at the killing of seven year-old Aiyana. In response, the Detroit Police Department held a press conference.

“We cannot undo what occurred this morning […] All we can do is to pledge an open and full investigation and to support Aiyana’s family in whatever way they may be willing to accept from us at this time,” said Assistant Police Chief Goodbee speaking on behalf of the Police Chief, who was on vacation at the time of the shooting.

Meanwhile the girl’s father, Charles Jones, was outraged about the incident. “She had a lively, free spirit,” said Jones. “They came into my house with a flash grenade and a bullet […] They say my mother [Mertilla] resisted them, that she tried to take an officer’s gun. My mother had never been in handcuffs in her life. They killed my baby and I want someone to tell the truth,” he added.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Detroit Police Department. It is not known who fired the shot that killed the girl, or whether or not they will receive any disciplinary action from the department.

HIV-positive man receives 35 years for spitting on Dallas police officer

Sunday, May 18, 2008

An HIV-positive man was sentenced to 35 years in prison Wednesday, one day after being convicted of harassment of a public servant for spitting into the eye and open mouth of a Dallas, Texas police officer in May 2006. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that no one has ever contracted HIV from saliva, and a gay-rights and AIDS advocacy group called the sentence excessive.

A Dallas County jury concluded that Willie Campbell’s act of spitting on policeman Dan Waller in 2006 constituted the use of his saliva as a deadly weapon. The incident occurred while Campbell, 42, was resisting arrest while being taken into custody for public intoxication.

“He turns and spits. He hits me in the eye and mouth. Then he told me he has AIDS. I immediately began looking for something to flush my eyes with,” said Waller to The Dallas Morning News.

Officer Waller responded after a bystander reported seeing an unconscious male lying outside a building. Dallas County prosecutors stated that Campbell attempted to fight paramedics and kicked the police officer who arrested him for public intoxication.

It’s been 25 years since the virus was identified, but there are still lots of fears.

Prosecutors said that Campbell yelled that he was innocent during the trial, and claimed a police officer was lying. Campbell’s lawyer Russell Heinrichs said that because he had a history of convictions including similarly attacking two other police officers, biting inmates, and other offenses, he was indicted under a habitual offender statute. The statute increased his minimum sentence to 25 years in prison. Because the jury ruled that Campbell’s saliva was used as a deadly weapon, he will not be eligible for parole until completing at least half his sentence.

If you look at the facts of this case, it was clear that the defendant intended to cause serious bodily injury.

The organization Lambda Legal (Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund), which advocates for individuals living with HIV, says that saliva should not be considered a deadly weapon. Bebe Anderson, the HIV projects director at Lambda Legal, spoke with The Dallas Morning News about the sentence. “It’s been 25 years since the virus was identified, but there are still lots of fears,” said Anderson.

The Dallas County prosecutor who handled the trial, Jenni Morse, said that the deadly weapon finding was justified. “No matter how minuscule, there is some risk. That means there is the possibility of causing serious bodily injury or death,” said Morse. Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins stated: “If you look at the facts of this case, it was clear that the defendant intended to cause serious bodily injury.”

Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV.

A page at the CDC’s website, HIV and Its Transmission, states: “HIV has been found in saliva and tears in very low quantities from some AIDS patients.” The subsection “Saliva, Tears, and Sweat” concludes that: “Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV.” On Friday the Dallas County Health Department released a statement explaining that HIV is most commonly spread through sexual contact, sharing needles, or transfusion from an infected blood product.
